Can’t believe it’s Belfast Fashion Week again and this season, it’s going to be in the amazing surroundings of the Ulster Museum. I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the shows, also held in the Museum, to be amongst the first to hear the schedule:
- George at ASDA will showcase a major spring 2013 collection on Thursday 21 March as one of the opening events that week.
- Friday 22nd March will see boutiques from right across Northern Ireland featured alongside key pieces from local designers, including Una Rodden, Reudi Maguire, Grainne Maher and Lisa McCabe.
- The High Street fashion show is always popular and will take place on Saturday 23 March at 8pm. Retailers from the high street taking part include, Marks & Spencer, Oasis, Warehouse, French Connection, Jigsaw, Benetton, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams, Miss Selfridge and New Look to name just a few. Once again the OUTLET Banbridge are returning for a third season to showcase their various collections.
- And closing up the week’s events is the ever popular Style Sunday event which takes place at James Street South restaurant on Sunday 24 March. The event, which supports learning disability charity Mencap will once again include the best hair, beauty and make up advice from FASHIONWEEK expert hair stylist Andrew Mulvenna and make up artist Paddy McGurgan as well as style advice and an intimate show of the most chic looks from the season.
I can attest that it’s a great girls’ night out with goody bags and West Coast Cooler for everyone attending. My friends and I had so much fun back in October. Make sure you book your tickets asap, especially for the high street show which was a sell out within a few days last season and do let me know if you’re coming along!
Oh and if you want to see what I and the other fashionistas at the event were wearing. Check out this gallery from Sugahfix.com!
